Ambigrams

 

I first came across ambigrams in the book ‘Masters of Decption’ when I was studying graphic design.  The work of ambigram artists like Scott Kim and John Langdon warped my mind in their blending of typography, graphic design and special logic.  I decided to start designing my own, initially with people’s first names, then when I became more ambitious, their whole name.

 

As part of my final year digital composite project I designed and refined several of my ambigrams and created photographic and 3D composites to enhance their meaning.
